Here Comes the Sun

This week has been good, but hard.  It was our first full week of homeschool and it was tough.  It is a difficult task to keep the 3 kids motiviated to do school work, rotate through their computer use, find extra educational videos to help teach a concept and balance that with free time meals and snacks.  Then try to fit in my own homework, cleaning, organizing and keeping the toddler occupied.  And dishes, there are so many more dishes!  Teachers and homeschool moms are awesome!  Both of the older two did a zoom conference with their classes and I think it was good for them to see their classmates again,
even if it was just on the computer.

We  had a lot of the same schedule everyday.  Drop Jake off at work, exercise, organize/clean, school work, playtime, meals and family time.  We have also been trying to do our daily service challange, gearing up for Easter (Thanks for the idea Becca).   Serving others, especially at this time brings me Joy and gives us something good and refreshing to do each day.  I love seeing everyones ideas they have for school and church at home.  They help me switch things up and I love seeing other families making the best out of our situation, just like we are trying to do.

A few highlights this week...   Talking to my mom on the phone.  Also talking to my sister Amy for just a second while she stood all the way out at her car.  And talking to Jake's mom outside about 10 feet a part for a few minutes.  I miss all of my people!  Ava had a video chat with her best friend from school.  Lawson got to talk with Kaj outside through the fence for a few minutes.    Family game night.  All of us saying things we loved about each other.  Jake making it through another safe week at the hospital.  The kids birthday video rap for Christina.  Family Walk.

We ended our week with General Conference and there were some really good talks that helped bring comfort at this crazy time.  A new proclamation and a new symbol.  I especially loved President Nelson talk about "Hear, Hearken and Heed".  It reminded me of a song I sang with some good friends awhile back for a RS activity.   Another talk that really resinated with me was Elder Holland's  He talked about Hope, "...we can hope, we should hope, even when facing the most insurmountable odds...We all need to believe that what we desire in righteousness can someday, some way,
somehow yet be ours."

Looking forward to some more cleaning projects this week and spending time with my fun family.

I am also looking forward to the Sun, maybe starting the garden soon.  This week looks pretty good, so that is something to look forward to!

In the wise word of the Beatles:

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

And I say it's all right
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter

Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

And I say it's all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces

Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

And I say it's all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
