We have had a great year. A lot of good times and good memories made. We are excited to see what the next year brings. We all have some solid goals and we are excited to work on them.
December was a good month as usual. We spent our time decorating, listening and singing to Christmas music, Christmas movies, a couple Christmas activities and all the Christmas things. Jake took the kids sledding a couple of times. The kids had a great 2 weeks off of school. The last day of school (the 17th) was Pierce's birthday. 7 years old! He is such a fun kid. He loves to play with his brothers (and Ava), he loves his friends, he loves to ride his bike, he loves to give hugs and is a little math wiz. We are pretty lucky to have him😊 We celebrated with Chinese food and Banana Cream pie and finished off with a movie night in mom and dads room featuring the new Home Alone movie. Natalie planned a few activities for the neighborhood kids to enjoy during their time off as well. Christmas Eve Eve party, snowball fight and games.
Christmas Eve we had our traditional creamed eggs for dinner and watched It's s Wonderful Life. The kids got some PJ's and fuzzy socks and we read our new Christmas book. Christmas was really fun. We had Jake home this year. That was the best. The past few years Jake worked(we managed just fine) but it was so fun to all be together and get started with the Christmas fun first thing. After presents we enjoyed some eggnog and snowman donuts. We had a nice lunch with my family. It was fun to see the cousins play and I always enjoy visiting with my sisters (and brothers) and my parents. We came home grabbed food and other things we needed and headed to the ward to enjoy more family fun with Jake's side. We enjoyed a nice dinner, visiting and games. It was especially fun because Jake's sister Megan and her husband David were in town so we got to spend some quality time with them while they were here. Fun game nights and sledding.
New years was kind of low key. We dropped by dinner for Jake's brothers family who had just had a baby. Another cousin! Then we stopped by Jon and Tati's for some dinner and games with just a few of us. We played some fun ones and had a great time. We finished off the night with an appearance to the ward for a few more games. Then it was Sunday and the kids were back to school.....but not me😉 I finished! I am done! This girl has her Bachelors in Business Administration. The semester was kind of rough, but I finished out strong. Whew! I will have my diploma in the mail in a few weeks. I am still debating whether I want to do the graduation in May. I am not really feelin' it, but there may be others who think I should.
Friday Ava, got a fun little sewing lesson from Grandma Fetzer. I love that my kids are developing new skills and talents. I love that they are eager to do it. Lawson has been drawing a lot more. He has been into it for a while, but is practicing and getting pretty good. (picture included) Last night we played a rousing 3 hour game of Beatles monopoly until we had to finally call it quits. It was a really fun time. Jake, Laws, Ava and I played and Wes and Pierce were both asleep on the couch before we were done. It is times like this that I really feel how lucky I am to have such a good family. We have great extended families and some good friends that we also love. 2022, let's see what you've got!
