Memorial Day Weekend

This year was awesome because Jake did not have to work at all.  The part few years Jake has always had to work Saturday morning so we never got to spend a lot of time at the cabin.

Friday evening we headed up to the Family cabin in Midway and had pizza dinner with my mom and dad.  Zach and Christina came up later that evening. Jake and Zach played guitar while we hung out. Saturday we had breakfast with my mom and dad, then they went back to town.  Saturday we spent the day playing our new ladder game.  Christina and I against Jake and Zach.  Christina and I rocked it for the majority of the games, but the boys made a comeback at the end.  It was really fun!  Then we headed down to Heber for some groceries.  Jake and Zach made french bread pizza for us for dinner.  After dinner we just hung out and watched movies.  We stayed until Sunday around noon.  We had a great time playing games, watching movies and just having fun.  The rest of Sunday we just relaxed a bit.

Monday morning Jake and his brother Sam cleaned out their old Blazer and got it ready to sale.  I remember when Jake had the truck when he and I were first hanging out before his mission.  It was a fun truck.  Good memories!  Sam and Will also had a turn with that fun car after that time.

That evening we went with all of Jake's family to the park for a chicken picnic.  (A tradition they do each Memorial day and Labor day)  Everyone brought really yummy salads!  After dinner we played the ladder game with a few who agreed to try it out.  The kids had fun in the sand, with chalk and with water guns (Great idea Jon and Tati, thanks for bringing them)!  I forgot my camera though, so sorry no pics.

Overall it was a great weekend.  We are lucky to live so close to both families and love the time we get to spend with them.
